Description

Grace Wong is a natural resource economist. Over the past two decades, her research has largely converged on assessing social, economic and ecological trade-offs in changing tropical environments at the interface of development and conservation processes. She has worked extensively throughout Southeast Asia and Latin America, and more recently in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her current research is on the politics and governance of forest and ecosystem services in dynamic social-ecological systems, with particular focus on issues of power, gender and equity. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature in Kyoto, Japan, and a Researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre.
