Shambhu Chamarkar

Shambhu Charmarkar has worked for more than a decade in different fields of forestry, including incentive-based biodiversity conservation, forest management, ecosystem services, REDD+, non-timber forest products, community forest management and forest certification. Between 2019 and 2020, he worked as Sustainable Forest Management Specialist at FAO and led a forest health project in Nepal developing the capacity of institutions under the Ministry of Forests and Environment to manage forest invasive alien plants, insect pests and pathogens. He holds MSc in Forest Science and Forest Ecology from the Georg-August Universität, Göttingen and is currently preparing his PhD at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.
