Gabriel Zacharias is a biologist with a master's degree in Environmental Planning and Management, with an emphasis on forest fire risk management. Since his beginnings at the Prevfogo Specialized Center, he has worked in training, developing current models for the selection process of firefighters and in the combat area, coordinating the Federal Government's integrated fire response center. For five years he was the national coordinator of Prevfogo, responsible for the management of approximately 1700 brigadistas and 20 million protected hectares. Over the last 10 years, he has participated in changing the Center's activities, implementing the Federal Brigades Program in Indigenous Lands, Rural Settlements and Quilombola Territories.
