Description
Dr. Johnston is a former wildland fire fighter and currently a Forest Fire Research Scientist with the Canadian Forest Service and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto.  His research focuses on the development of remote sensing tools for studying the physical properties fire behaviour and for operational fire management.  Josh leads Canada’s wildfire monitoring work package, is the PI of the WildFireSat mission and represents Canada’s wildfire interests globally through GOFC-GOLD, GEO, and CEOS.
